‘If Only’ is about relying on crushes to avoid having to interrogate who you are when you’re alone. As a self proclaimed “lover not a fighter” my romantic nature opens me up to a lot of hurt but also a lot of fun. ‘If Only’ is a very honest and at times laughable reflection on dating in your 20s. At a stage were change happens so rapidly sometimes it feels easier to figure out who you are through the eyes of someone new. This song is for all the people who crush hard on people they hardly know, I see you (I am you).
